Save Marriage- Aren’t You Emotionally Close?

It has been shown that over half of marriages end in a divorce. Re-marriages do even more poorly with an estimated 75% of couples divorcing. Couples therapists cannot claim to have bolstered the marriage survival rate. When a marriage faces a crisis, a couple can feel hopeless and may think that divorce is their only choice.

Who doesn’t want a permanent relationship? Of course you want someone their when times get rough to hold your hand! Divorce is not the answer to your problems. Stop the divorce and work to save your marriage. Get advise to save marriage if that’s what it takes. Counseling can help resolve issues and help you find each other again.

Any marriage counselor will tell you, you shouldn’t forget all those things you did when you fell in love and got married. Small favors will abound when you cook a favorite meal, hand your spouse the morning paper, or bring coffee when it is not expected. Continue some of the favors that she will appreciate like helping with housework, sending her out shopping for herself, or giving a surprise gift. These small things show you care in big ways.

Spend time together and speak up. Individual counseling is done by a lot of marriage counselors who try to sort the problems of these couples. Marriage counselor’s prerequisites are organization, appropriate path and strategy. In a Save Marriage session, professionals need to be self-confident and should provide guidance otherwise the coples will make the therapist’s office a battlefield.

Being a newlywed is hard work. Not only do couples have to learn to live together and accept each others’ habits and quirks, but they have to learn to communicate their feelings to each other. Unfortunately, too many couples get into a habit of hiding their feelings. Frustrations build up and cause bitterness in the relationship. Soon even the good parts of the marriage like the wonderful sex life and feelings of safety and peace have dissolved away in the sea of annoyances. Couples can find help through marriage counseling, though, which will assist them in finding solutions to their problems and help them learn communication skills.

People who are caught in loveless marriages generally blame their spouses for their marital misery and often look outside their marriages to find comfort for their pain. People turn to work, church, hobbies, friends, too much TV, substance abuse, and extramarital relationships to try to make them feel better. The problem, however, lies within the marriage and must be solved within the marriage. Outside sources are only temporary solutions which generally result in more problems.

In the old days, ’til death do us part” had a binding meaning and no one went around asking how tosave marriage. Seems like those days are over, and people often find themselves asking “How to save my marriage?” You can save marriage through an array of resources available to those willing to work things out, without going to the extreme of divorce. You shouldn’t decide to end your marriage just because it isn’t as exciting as it once was. To avoid ending your marriage you must understand that you are making a permanent commitment and be confident enough to stay and work things out.
