Cheap Weddings - How To Do It
Every woman looks forward to her wedding day. Most of us love the finer things in life, including the big fancy wedding, but we all know that these weddings aren’t feasible for everyone. Cheap weddings are entirely possible if you prevent yourself from spending unnecessary money. Here are some things you can do to prevent unnecessary spending:
Bridal Shops:
Don’t let them order a size you know will be too big. As you’re trying on wedding dresses, you’re the one who knows what size you need. The thing is, they try to convince you because there needs to be allowances for this or that. So you end up needing a seamstress to make alterations, hiking up the price. This is one tactic for cheap weddings: Make certain that they do order your dress in the correct size.
Vendors:
You need to find out all the fees up front no matter who or what kind of vendor you’re doing business with. Whether it’s the caterer or the band, you want to make sure that they don’t end up charging you some sort of fees for nonsense things. Get your agreement in writing, and ask them flat out if there are any hidden fees.
Don’t Say Wedding:
A tip: Telling the vendor that this is for a wedding is a surefire way to get the worst, most expensive deals possible. This seems kind of silly, but simply telling them that you’re having an ‘event’ can save you money.
Once vendors hear the word ‘wedding,’ their prices skyrocket to three or four times the price for a different event the same size as a wedding.
Do get a price quote, but don’t be afraid to haggle a bit and see if they’ll go lower. You get cheap weddings by using these kind of tips. Is this really possible? Yes, so long as you plan your budget, stick with it, and stay away from those spending traps described above.
